Waroona is a small agricultural town located in the Peel region of Western Australia. Here are some interesting facts about the region:

1. Waroona was named after a local Aboriginal word meaning "place of fire". This name was given due to the frequent bushfires that occur in the area.

2. The town was founded in the late 1800s as a timber logging and milling settlement. At the time, the jarrah forest in Waroona was one of the largest in the world.

5. The Waroona Dam, located 5 km south-east of the town, was completed in 1966 and provides water to the Peel region. The dam wall stands at a height of 44 meters and has a capacity of 4240 megaliters.

6. The Waroona Agricultural Show is one of the region's biggest yearly events, attracting visitors from all over Western Australia. The show features livestock exhibitions, carnival rides, and traditional country fair activities.
